Memorial Site
|
In the wake of September 11th, there has been a growing need and interest to remember those who have left us. This site is an attempt to meet some of that, and also to provide a place of contemplation and interaction concerning some of the pressing issues that have arisen since that time. It will consist of three main pages, linked to this page, and whatever subsequent pages are needed as the topics are expanded. Those main pages are:
- A "Remembrance" page, for departed friends and loved ones.
- A page on "Terrorism", as viewed from both sides.
- A page on "Anti-Terrorism", how to prevent and combat terrorism.
Further explanation will be given as you move throughout the site, and you are encouraged to contact us with your questions, suggestions, and, most importantly, memories. |

The memorial ribbon symbol above has come to represent all that is good and all that is evil in man. However, sometimes it is hard to distinguish between the two, and often what is one man's good may be another's evil.
There is a popular story of a king who devised a method of justice whereby the accused would decide his own fate in a public arena. He would have to choose between two doors. Behind one was a lovely lady. Behind the other a vicious tiger. One day, a young man was accused of being in love with the king's daughter, a crime for a commoner, and was brought into the arena. However, the king's daughter learned the secret of the doors and motioned for him to choose the one on the right. He goes to open the door, and the story ends - leaving you to imagine what was really behind it.
Below are two similar doors. Behind one is the world of terrorism. Behind the other that of anti-terrorism. Each good, each evil, in the eye of the beholder. Click on the door of your choice, but beware, what lies on the other side may surprise you! Isn't this really somewhat similar to the choices we make every day - every moment? What will it be, the lady or the tiger? |
