Wharton United Community Church

St. John's UMC WUPC Our Mission: We believe that the church belongs to God and is the body of Christ. The church is to be the physical presence of Christ in the world. As such, our primary aim is to glorify God and to do God's will. We believe God has called Wharton United Community Church to the following:
  1. Our Values: It is our desire to honor God through our work on God's behalf. To this end, we will do God's work with the qualities that we value most: Integrity, Grace, Excellence, Relevance, Authenticity, Passion, Humility, Faith, Inclusivity, Commitment, Joy, and Love.

  2. Our Purpose: To build a Christian community which helps church members grow in faith while reaching out to others, encouraging all to become deeply committed Christians through God's grace.

  3. Our Vision: Our vision is that we will be a light to the world; that those who come and participate in our ministries will be transformed and will do their part to transform the world around them.

  4. Strategies: The following areas of ministry constitute the primary means of accomplishing our purpose and vision: Worship - Discipleship - Nurture - Outreach. We seek to glorify and praise our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ through joyful, Spirit-led worship; to help persons of all ages become deeply committed Christians through ministries of discipleship; to build lasting, caring relationships; to train, equip, inspire and mobilize members to live out their faith outside the walls of the church through ministries of service.
