And before the sun blinds my view, I fix my eyes afar,
Scanning the distant harbor for a sign my ship has come.
I now have just a short while left to tell you where to look,
For today I saw a sail,
And by evening my Captain will dock and this visit soon will end.
So listen closely, for both joy and sorrow await the next sunrise,
But we do have some time now,
And soon, I pray, forever.
With the coming dawn I will be gone,
And someday you will climb that hill alone,
To gaze across the glimmering sea and dream of going Home.
