Discussion 6: This week we will continue with "The Parable Of The Talents" and also begin our study of the book "Classic Christianity". Again I would like to remind you that questions or comments can be submitted on the "Contact Us" page of the Open Kingdom website or emailed to "openkingdom@openkingdom.org". Also included in this lesson are links that will enable you to begin to balance your growth of body, mind, and spirit.

Classic Christianity:

Before beginning to read the first chapter of "Classic Christianity", please read the three introductory sections and any information you can find about the author.

In the section "A Word from the Publisher", how did the publisher, Bob Hawkins Jr., first learn of Bob George, and what what was his reason for scheduling a meeting with him? (page 5)

In the "Foreword", who does Major Ian Thomas say are those "that Bob George addresses" in this book? (page 7)

In the section "It's All From Him", why did Bob George think the vice president of Harvest House Publishers had come to see him? (page 9)

After reading the accounts of these two men about their meeting, what can you say of God's divine providence both here and in your life? Do you think there is a reason for you reading this book?

How has this book impacted the lives of people all over the world? (pages 10-16)

Sermon:

In this parable we learn that "talents" are not power or ability, but rather, our capacity to weigh or understand the Word of God correctly. Through His grace we will then be able to preach it to others and teach them to do the same. We also see here the meaning of the amounts given to the servants as meaning the Law and the fulfillment of the Law. Attention also needs to be given to the attributes of the servants so that we don't follow our lustful desires and miss the true message of sharing the Master's happiness.

Daily Devotion:

Compare the reading from 2014-3-21 of Our Daily Bread with today's sermon. How are they different? How are they similar?
