Discussion 48: Read Pastor Cha's sermon (3-22-15), the sermon by Ray Stedman (Romans 1:1-17), and today's devotion (3-29-15).

In today's sermon, "Justification By Faith": What happens if you do not have good eyesight? What do you need if you want to read and understand the Bible's message correctly? What is this glass, and what happens without it? What do men have to depend on to see things in this world, what is wrong with them, and how do they work? What makes all people sin against God, and what did they lose because of it? What do they do because of this, and what does it cause people to do? What does Romans 3:10-11 say about this condition?

What do men try to build up, and what is it made up of? What can we see in all the religions in the world? How were all the theories established, and why do they need them? What happens without a glass of faith?

What is faith as shown in the Bible, and how does Ephesians 2:8-9 explain this? How isn't the faith of our salvation derived? How must the "glass of faith" be given to us, and why?

What is and is not "faith", and what does Hebrews 11:1-3 say it is? What does the word "being sure" mean, and what does it point to? How does Jesus Christ fulfill this meaning? What does "faith" enable us to realize and experience?

How is "faith" a "certain" "thing" we do not "see"? Besides admonishing our sins, what does the cross also prove? What are two reasons Jesus didn't die? What shouldn't we, and should we do, if we surely know the mystery to which the cross tries to testify? Without God's grace in which we realize the mystery to which the cross tries to testify, what would the death of Jesus mean, and what would one confess and become?

What is, and isn't, God-given faith? How isn't the gospel like other religions? What can we see in Revelation 19:11? Why must faith be given by God's grace as a gift, and what happens through it?

What is the graceful act of God who wants to give this gift of "faith" called? What is the reaction of the totally depraved members of mankind? What can even happen to someone who received this amazing gift? How does the cross prove the awesome love of God? What is God's righteousness? What is the blessing of realizing the mystery of Christ?

What is the best example of showing God's righteous deed? In Genesis 12:1-3, what did God promise Abraham, and what did it symbolize? God faithfully led Abraham until when, and how did he become righteous? How were his wicked sins continually exposed before God's righteousness? In Genesis 15:12-18, how did God make a covenant with Abraham, and how was it eventually fulfilled? What is the Hebrew custom with regard to making a covenant? Why did God have to make the covenant alone, and how does the cross symbolize it's fulfillment? How did God show continuous grace, even though Abraham didn't do anything right? Why was God greatly pleased with Abraham, and how does Genesis 22:17-18 show this? What did God finally see in Abraham, how was His promise finally fulfilled? What does Romans 4:1-3 say about what Abraham discovered in this matter, according to scripture?

What does this account clearly show about God's faithful righteousness? What happens once "faith" is given as a gift to us? How is God's faithfulness and loving kindness shown to us, and how does this show the true meaning of "Justification by Faith"?

In the "Conclusion": Even though we have suffered and been disappointed by people's lies, what have we realized by God's grace here? What should we do then in response? Why did He give us a glass of "faith"?
