Discussion 30: Read Pastor Cha's sermon (11-16-14), the sermon by Ray Stedman (Acts 6:1-8), and today's devotion (11-23-14).

In today"s sermon, "Fulfill The Ministry Of God Through The Spirit And Wisdom", according to the section "Summary from last week (31)": What is our purpose of life, as stated in Philippians 3:13-14? How does God help us achieve that purpose?

What is the spirituality that was already established on the cross? What only can set us free from all the worldly judgement for good and evil?

In the section "Let the ministry of the word and prayer be centered in our life": What was the complaint of the Grecian Jews, and what important message was realized out of this trouble? What important message can we learn here about today's church?

Why do you think God's judgement was so harsh towards the Hebrews in the wilderness after the Exodus, as stated in I Corinthians 10:5,10? What are the two main areas that must be dealt with when complaints arise in the church?

In the section "The election of seven deacons who are full of the spirit and wisdom": What is the fundamental mission of a deacon? How did Stephen's martyrdom help spread the Gospel?

How does unity of the Gospel work within the leadership of the church? How does the Spirit and wisdom help the church leaders to guide the church in times of trouble?

In the section "They could not stand up against his wisdom or the spirit by whom he spoke (v.10)": What does the face of one who delivers the Gospel message display? What is God's plan for appointing His deacons?

In the "Conclusion": What is the duty of a deacon? How does he fulfill this duty?

In "Handling Dissension", by Ray Stedman: What are the two instances that he compares to tares, described in Matthew 13, found so far in the early church in the book of Acts? What is "murmuring, and why is it always deadly?

How does the scripture text show that the early church was sensitive to the Holy Spirit? How might the book of Acts (sometimes called "The Acts Of The Apostles") possibly be called "The Acts Of The Holy Spirit"?

Why is it detrimental to the church body to get help and guidance from the world? What are the five qualifications Stedman finds in those chosen to wait on the tables? How does Stedman define "spiritual", and what does he call it?

How does Stedman compare knowledge with wisdom? What does he see "wonderful" in the fact that all those chosen had Greek names? What did the "laying on of hands" mean in the Old Testament?

What "four" things does Stedman say result from this healing of dissention in the early church?

In today's daily devotion, entitled "Outlasting Bitterness": How are bitterness and complaining related. Try to relate the Nazi persecution with that of the early church and the lessons we all can learn from them.
